Most automakers have a specific design language for their cars, which makes recognizing them on the road easy. But when a manufacturer–in this case, Chevrolet–changes their formula, it can make recognizing a vehicle difficult. In a recent ad you might have seen, the Bow Tie put this to the test in the best way possible.
In it, Chevrolet gathered a group of car buyers together, took the badge off the Malibu, and tried to make them guess what kind of car it was. They all seemed to mistake it for an upscale model rather than a traditional midsize, and they were pleasantly surprised to learn it was actually an accessibly-priced car with a metric trunkload of bells and whistles.
